Common Questions

Short answers to the questions members ask most.

How do I apply for a job you matched me with?

Use the Apply link on the job. It takes you to the employer's site, or the board where the job was posted, and you apply there. Job Sweet Job never applies for anyone. When you've applied, tap "I applied" so the job goes on your board.

What if a posting is gone or out of date?

It happens. Postings come from outside sources, and some get filled, pulled or reposted. If the link is dead or the job is closed, skip it and move to your next match. If it's already on your board, move it to Archived.

Can I reuse a tailored résumé for another job?

You can. It's yours. But it was written for one posting and leads with what that job asked for, so read it against the new posting before you send it. If the other job is in your Top 10, tailoring it is included. If you found it yourself, a Hot Take will tailor it.

How long do you keep my results and documents?

They're kept while your account is active. Everything we've made for you is in Documents.

How do I sign in, or reset my password?

Use Log In at the top of the page. Sign-in is run by Clerk, the service we use for accounts. If you forgot your password, choose "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen and follow the email it sends.

What is a Hot Take?

A Hot Take is for one job you found yourself. You paste in the posting, and we tell you how you fit and write a résumé and cover letter for that job. It's $10, the same price for everyone, and memberships come with some every month.

What's included with a membership?

Your weekly matches, and tailoring for your Top 10. Tailoring a résumé and cover letter for a job in your Top 10 is included, no Hot Take needed. A second version of the same job uses a Hot Take. See the plans

What is a Pass?

A Pass is a link someone gives you that opens Job Sweet Job for you. Open the link and sign up to start. If your Pass has an end date, pick a plan when it ends if you want to keep going.

Should I check the documents before I send them?

Yes, every time. They're drafted by AI from your résumé and the posting. You know your history better than it does, and the document goes out under your name. How the AI works
